CHLOE KOO
Speaker Experience
Chloe Work

Educator

I teach design and technology to provide my students with transformative experiences.

I share stories about
career growth in design,
design for corp,
using design in educational settings,
and international design conferences.

As an educator, Chloe focuses on sharing her knowledge on “Designing AI experiences” and “Inclusive Design” with professional designers and design students. She helps students to develop creative thinking, apply design principles, think critically in a design process, and craft hands-on and digital experiences that foster curiosity and delight. Her teaching emphasizes applications of designs in healthcare and their human-centric aspects to encourage students to view art and design as an integral part of people’s cultural and spiritual lives.

She is a seasoned guest speaker with lecturing and mentoring experience at various institutions, such as The City College of New York, Seoul National University Asia Center, NYC Department of Education, The HCI Society of Korea, New York University Tandon School of Engineering, Parsons School of Design and AIGA New York. She wishes to continue inspiring students to fully engage in the world around them.

Conference Talk and
Guest Speaker Appearances at Universities

Key projects:

I have been invited to participate as an external thesis reviewer at NYU Tandon School of Engineering graduate school. I provided constructive feedback to Game Innovation lab students on their graduate thesis projects and gave educational guidance, advice, and evaluation on the projects along with other NYU faculty reviewers.

I have been selected as a speaker by the City College of New York and Seoul National University Asia Center to give talks on “Digital Sensory Playground”, "From Passion to Impact" and “Inclusive Design” These topics are the culmination of months of research at different schools and institutions for blind people, including St. Joseph’s School for the Blind and Helen Keller Services for the Blind's Children's National Center.

As an IBM Watson corporate speaker, I shared AI design knowledge in the “Communication by AI Design” session at Fast Campus’s Future Conference and the “Designing AI experience" session at HCI (Human-Computer Interaction) Korea to 1,000+ designers and college students.

Mentoring for Design Professionals
and Students

Key projects:

I help designers strengthen their self-confidence, realize their full potential in their career journey, and empower them to take on leadership roles.

Currently, I mentor mentees in the Design and Technology program at Parsons School of Design, guiding them in portfolio development, interview preparation, and résumé refinement. At AIGA New York, I mentor emerging design professionals, helping them accelerate their career, personal, and leadership growth. At SXSW EDU 2024, I emphasized the transformative potential of art education, particularly in early childhood, inclusion for children with disabilities, and college teaching, reflecting my commitment to inclusive design.

Educator For Middle and
High School Students

Key projects:

I have been serving as a judge in the ‘Emoticon Fair’ (NYC’s annual Youth Digital Media & Technology Challenge Project Fair with New York Public Library and New York City Department of Education) since 2020. Every year, more than 500+ NYC middle and high school students participate in this fair, creating apps, games, and designs with digital tools. During my experience as the judge, I reviewed many students’ music, coding, and design work. At the fair, I also served as a mentor to the students, teaching them basic coding and web development tools, such as JavaScript on Glitch, and coaching them on their presentations.

I was also a workshop speaker at Maker Faire Cairo in 2021, which is a family-friendly festival in Egypt that celebrates innovation, creativity, and DIY culture. At the fair, I taught sensory development activities and raised student participants' awareness of global warming issues.
